The family of Captain Sir Tom Moore is inviting everyone to take part in a new challenge to help mark what would have been his 101st birthday.

The idea behind the Captain Tom 100 Challenge is simple: choose a challenge involving the number 100 to complete any time over the weekend of 30th April – 3rd May 2021 and raise funds for a UK charity of your choice.  Climb 100 stairs, bake 100 biscuits, do 100 hops on a pogo stick, sing for 100 minutes, swim 100 laps or cycle 100 km – whatever makes you smile!

Captain Tom’s daughter Hannah explains “On 6 April 2020, my father set out to raise £1,000 by walking 100 laps of our family garden before his 100th birthday – the story that followed we could have never imagined.

“Friday 30 April 2021 should have been the celebration of Captain Tom’s 101st birthday. We are inviting the UK, and the rest of the world, to use this moment to celebrate my father’s generosity of spirit, the hope and joy he brought to millions, and his sense of fun, by taking part in the Captain Tom 100 over his birthday weekend.”
