How we help The difference we make The difference we make Since September 2011, 40tude curing colon cancer has raised over £2.3 million to support leading-edge research led by St Mark's Hospital in North West London, the national bowel hospital. As well as raising awareness of the importance of getting screened for this type of cancer, 40tude is investing in ground-breaking medical research to better understand the causes of colon cancer and to increase the likelihood of early detection. The funds we raise are targeted at specific NHS projects which without our support could not move forward. Each research project involves formal collaborations with other venerable organisations, such as The Institute of Cancer Research, Royal Cancer Hospital, Bart’s, Imperial College and The Royal Marsden. Our approach is to provide 'seed funding' to give momentum to the initial phases of a research programme designed to improve the early diagnosis and/or treatment of colon cancer, and which has the potential to inform national NHS guidelines and programmes in the near future, saving lives. For more details about the individual projects which 40tude is currently helping to support please see our Projects we're funding page To learn more about the impact our support is having on the effort to cure colon cancer, please take a look at this short film Together we’re making a difference for the many people who are affected by this form of cancer and we aim to reduce the number of people seriously affected by this avoidable disease.
