What's on News Jonathan's I would bike 500 miles challenge A big thank you to Jonathan Mount who has set himself the challenge of cycling 500 miles before Christmas Day for 40tude, at the same time as undergoing treatment for colon cancer. Jonathan explains, "I aim to cycle 500 miles before Christmas Day 2021, this means an average of 20 miles a week, which I hope is achievable, as long as my treatment allows me to succeed. I may have to have an operation on my liver, but hopefully this should be keyhole surgery, so I should still be able to make the target!" So far Jonathan has raised the fantastic sum of more than £3,600 for 40tude as a result of his efforts. If you would like to show your support, his fundraising page for 40tude can be found at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jonathan-mount "I have titled it "I would cycle 500 miles" in memory of Silas, who sadly died of a brain tumour whilst at Wellesley," says Jonathan. "My cancer started with cancer of the colon, that was 8 years ago, and it has now returned to attack my liver, so the charity "40tude" is particularly apt. "I will publish my progress on my blog each week (jmontysblog.com) and also you can follow my progress on Strava. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD IF POSSIBLE. CANCER IS A KILLER, BUT IT NEEDN'T BE. I'M FIGHTING HARD !!!!"
