Our News Intrepid Stuart Thom tries his hand at White Collar Boxing Congratulations to our stalwart supporter Stuart Thom who tried his hand at White Collar Boxing, stepping into the ring in Belfast on Sunday 30th November 2025. Stuart had just eight weeks training to get ready for the fight, which he says took him 'out of his comfort zone'. That is saying something, as Stuart has been dreaming up and completing extreme challenges for many years, together with many others who have links to both 40tude and The My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, charities close to the hearts of the rugby legends Tom Smith and Doddie Weir. As a result of his team's efforts more than £350,000 has been raised so far to support research into finding a cure for Motor Neurone Disease and Colon Cancer. Participants of 'White collar boxing' typically have little to no prior boxing experience and receive training for a set period, such as eight to ten weeks, before competing in an organised event. The goal is to raise money for charity rather than pursuing a professional boxing career. “I am supporting two charities that mean a lot to me and the wider rugby community," explains Stuart. "Both Doddie and Tom during the latter years of their ‘fights’ could not do the simple things we take for granted… I can. “So stepping into the ring is daunting but it’s my short-term pain. Please dig deep and support by donating." There's still time to congratulate Stuart on this triumph! Simply head to his fundraising page here Donate to congratulate Stuart Manage Cookie Preferences
