We're delighted that April is National Bowel Cancer Awareness month.  This annual event has been created to increase awareness of bowel cancer and its symptoms, and to raise funds to help treat this very preventable type of cancer - just as 40tude is working hard to do.

Bowel or colon cancer is the second biggest UK’s killer cancer. It shouldn't be, as this type of cancer is treatable and curable, all the more so if it is detected at an early stage. Early diagnosis saves lives.

No one likes to talk about their bowels but it's really important not to ignore the symptoms of colon cancer, and to report them to your doctor without delay.  For details of the signs and symptoms click here

It's important also to get screened for colon cancer, ideally every 5-7 years from your mid-40s.  For information on the screening options available, please see our Screening page
