Thank you for supporting me by donating to 40tude in connection with my participation in 40tude's 'Heroes of Telemark' Challenge. The funds raised will be directed very carefully to raising awareness of colon cancer and the importance of getting screened regularly from your mid-40s for this type of cancer, which if detected early can be fully cured. Find out more at: https://www.40tude.org.uk/what-is-colon-cancer

The funds raised by 40tude also support ground-breaking research programmes targeted at transforming the early diagnosis and treatment of colon cancer. 1 in 15 men and 1 in 18 women are at risk of developing this type of cancer and if you're a non-smoker in the UK, colon cancer is the most likely cancer to kill you. Early diagnosis is critical, it can and does save lives.

I have worked to support 40tude for over 10 years. It’s a great cause, and your donation will make a real difference in the mission to eradicate colon cancer. Donating is easy, quick and secure. Already they have funded critical research at. St Mark’s hospital, where I am a specialist in imaging and planning surgery for patients with advanced rectal cancer. Our research programs are about improving access around the country and wider around the world to the best quality tests for detecting early cancers and about educating doctors and healthcare workers working in this area to ensure they can get the highest accuracy and effectiveness in their work, and better outcomes for patients. Feel free to call me to talk about it!

Please share with friends and family on social media – and elsewhere. Together we can reduce the number of people seriously affected by this type of cancer.

Thank you.
