Here I go again! After previous treks up Mt Toubkal in 2018, 100km through the Sahara in 2019 and 100km through the Wadi Rum in 2020, I've just climbed Mt M'Goun (at 4,071m, the second highest mountain in North Africa) - again without a hotel or shower in sight - to raise awareness and funds for a wonderful cause: 40tude curing colon cancer.

The trek took place earlier in June and I can report that this was my toughest 40tude challenge to date. The combination of the trek itself, the altitude and the intense heat was pretty brutal. A dodgy stomach and a touch of heatstroke did not help much either!

The serious stuff: I am fund-raising for 40tude curing colon cancer, a young, innovative charity set up to tackle colon cancer. The funds raised will be used to raise awareness of colon cancer and the importance of getting screened regularly from your mid-40s for this type of cancer, which is treatable if detected early. Find out more at: https://www.40tude.org.uk/what-is-colon-cancer

The funds we raise also support ground-breaking research programmes targeted at transforming the early diagnosis and treatment of colon cancer. 1 in 15 men and 1 in 18 women are at risk of developing this type of cancer and if you're a non-smoker in the UK, colon cancer is the most likely cancer to kill you. Early diagnosis is vital, it can and does save lives. SO PLEASE GET SCREENED!

It’s a great cause, and your donation, however large or small, will make a real difference in helping to cure colon cancer. Donating via the link is easy, quick and secure.

If you prefer to send a charity cheque (made out to 40tude curing colon cancer) to me at 2 Woodlands Road, Barnes, London SW13 0JZ, then that's fine also.

A huge thank you for your donation - together we can cure colon cancer!
